Carmel Country Inn is located in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea, on Dolores Street at Third Avenue, flanked by residential houses, yet a quick walk from charming shops, fine dining, and art galleries at the north end of Carmel Village. We’re a short drive from Pebble Beach, Monterey, and Big Sur, making us an ideal base for exploring California’s stunning Central Coast.

We are located in a quiet residential neighborhood filled with trees, hedges and flowers. We do not have any ocean views, although when the surf is high, you can hear the waves and smell the salt in the air.

Our parking lot accommodates 1 vehicle per room, regardless of the size of the room. The lot does not accommodate oversized vehicles. Additional non-timed parking is available on Dolores Street, directly across from the inn.

Our Luxury King Studios feature French doors that lead to a private, covered balcony. The Deluxe One Bedroom suites have their own decks off the sitting room. We also have several common area outdoor patio areas for everyones enjoyment.

The Studios are one, open floor plan rooms where you can lay in bed and enjoy the fireplace and Smart TV. The Suites have sitting rooms and one or two separate bedrooms that have doors that close between the sitting room and bedrooms.

Check-in at Carmel Country Inn is guaranteed by 3:00 PM and staff is available until 8:00 PM, Check-out is from 8:00-11:00 AM. We gladly welcome early arrivals, just let us know what time you’d like to arrive. You are also welcome to leave your vehicle in our lot for a few hours after checkout at 11:00 AM.

A two-night minimum stay is typically required on weekends. Holiday and Special Event periods require additional minimum night requirements.

We require 7 days notice for cancellations or changes or you will be responsible for any unsold room nights.  A $20 processing fee will be applied to any refunded deposits, regardless. Holiday and Special Event periods have a 30-45 day cancellation policy as well as minimum stay requirements.

We require a deposit equal to the first night’s room, tax, and any additions upon booking the reservation.  We no longer accept Cash.

Children are welcome as long as maximum capacity is not exceeded. We ask that recreational items not be used on inn property. Guardians are responsible for children’s behavior at all times as it relates to safety and preserving the peace and quiet of other guests. Children under the age of 12 may not be left unattended anywhere on inn property – this includes the breakfast room, guest rooms and parking areas. An additional person fee may apply.

While we don’t supply rollaways, all suites have pull out sofa beds with memory foam mattresses.

We provide pack and plays at no additional charge with notice. We do not have high chairs.

Yes, all our guest rooms and suites have a small refrigerator with a small freezer.

Yes, we have classic 4- and 12-cup coffee makers in the room with Carmel Valley Roasting Company coffee.

Yes, we provide a water kettle in each room. We also have two filtered water stations with hot and cold water.

We provide two filtered water stations on property. Bottled water can be purchased at nearby 5th Avenue Deli or Brunos Market.

We do not allow smoking of any kind anywhere on inn property. Much of the downtown and beach area are designated as non smoking areas as well.

Yes! Gift certificates are available and make a perfect gift for anniversaries, birthdays, or a romantic getaway to Carmel, California.

Unfortunately we don’t have a full working kitchen, so we suggest you provide your own speciality foods. Whole Foods Market is in nearby Monterey and Cornucopia market is located on Carmel Rancho Boulevard.

We offer coffee, teas and lemonade all day until 6:00 PM as well as a variety of fresh baked cookies and dry snacks.

We don’t have a liquor license, therefore we can not arrange alcoholic beverages. Both 5th Avenue Deli and Bruno Market sell alcohol and will even deliver it to Carmel Country Inn.

Of course! Carmel Beach is famously pet-friendly, and there are several nearby trails and parks, including Garland Ranch Regional Park and Mission Trail Nature Preserve. Yes, from Carmel Country Inn you can walk to Carmel Beach in just a few minutes. The beach is off-leash dog friendly and has public restrooms. We can supply the beach towels and umbrellas if needed. We even offer a pet washing station for those sandy paws if you’re bringing your dog!
