Carmel Beach
This stunning beach, within walking distance from our romantic inn, stretches nearly a mile along the coast of California. While you can of course enjoy the scenic view of the ocean, Carmel Beach is also well-known for its large abundance of Cyprus trees and bluffs. If you want to experience a “true” beach day in the water, you’re at the right spot.
Carmel River State Beach
Looking for a more secluded beach? Then the Carmel River State Beach is for you. This beach is home to a bird sanctuary in the lagoon. Here, you can find an array of waterfowl and songbirds. While this beach is not very well-known for swimming, it is the perfect place to enjoy our Land & Sea Picnic Package with a view!
Asolimar Beach
Next up on the list is Asolimar Beach in Pacific Grove, home of Central California’s surfers and kayakers. In fact, you can even watch them from the Asolimar Coast Trail, a ¾ mile walking trail. Close by is also a pedestrian boardwalk through 25-acres of sand dunes.
Garapata Beach
Located along the Big Sur Coastline lies Garapata Beach. This beach contains nearly two miles of shore, hiking trails, and even a 50-foot climb to a stunning view of the Monterey Bay National Sanctuary. Garapata Beach is also known for its abundance of sea life such as sea lions, harbor seals, sea otters, and even gray whales during the migration season.
Pfeiffer State Beach
Last but certainly not least is Pfeiffer State Beach located in Big Sur, California. This beach is home to the Keyhole Arch, perfect for all the selfies you’d ever want. While this beach can be a bit tricky to get to, it is definitely worth the challenge. If you happen to visit right after a good rain, you may even be able to see purple sand!
