Check out this press release by the Monterey County Visitors and Convention Bureau regarding Wine Enthusiast Magazine naming Monterey Wine Country top 10 in the world. Don’t forget we have 12 tasting rooms here in Carmel-by-the-Sea, walking distance from our Pet Friendly Bed & Breakfast and the gals even have a “Wine away the Day” package.
MONTEREY COUNTY, CALIF. – The Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau is proud to announce Wine Enthusiast has selected the destination as a 2013 Top Ten Wine Travel Destination in the World. Monterey County is the only California wine region to make the 2013 list.
“The wine country in Monterey County is less commercialized and provides a more authentic experience for the devoted wine enthusiast” said Tammy Blount, CEO of the Monterey County Convention and Visitors Bureau, adding “A wine country itinerary in Monterey County is perfectly complemented with our incredible array of intimate dining options, world class shopping and spa experiences, and the most beautiful coastline in the world.”
The designation is the result of Wine Enthusiast editors who trek the globe each year in search of the most exciting places to visit. Decisions are based on overall cultural experience, timeliness, travel infrastructure, and of course wine quality in the region. The entire list is featured in the February 2013 issue of Wine Enthusiast, available on newsstands now.
“Monterey County offers so many unique and top-class experiences in not only wine and food but in everything from outdoor adventures to art to sightseeing. It has an undiscovered, offbeat, creative flair while at the same time offering very elegant experiences. We feel Monterey represents our reader – extremely modern, approachable, sincerely quality driven. Glamour without pretense. Progressive.” said Wine Enthusiast Executive Editor Susan Kostrzewa.
Monterey County has seen a stunning forty percent increase of tasting rooms in the last year and is home to over 40,000 acres of premium vineyards. Wine enthusiasts are able to take public transit to tasting rooms in rustic Carmel Valley which is home to the new East End Wine Row. Shoppers can mix finding their latest treasure with wine tasting in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Fifteen tasting rooms are now located in the walkable one square mile known for unique shops. Vineyard experiences along River Road are also gaining momentum with A-T-V rides through the vines.
“There are amazing things happening in Monterey County, especially in wine. I feel we are finally getting the recognition we deserve.” said Sabrine Rodems, winemaker of Monterey County based Wrath Wines.
Here’s wishing all my fans of our Pet Friendly Carmel Bed and Breakfast a Happy New Year. I am certainly happy, as seen here cuddling with yet another new fan (I think I may be robbing the cradle!)
SPECIAL’S UPDATE: The gals have extended the 3rd night free midweek thru February, so plan your cuddling trip to our Carmel Country Inn soon, and be sure to set aside some time to spend with me.
The gals are busy at work decorating for Christmas at our Pet Friendly Carmel Bed and Breakfast, and I’m helping, of course. The tree water is just as tasty this year as in year’s past.
The Carmel Heritage Society’s Holiday Inn tour is this coming Sunday, December 2.
Also, the Carmel by the Sea Christmas Tree Lighting is next Friday, December 7 followed by a reception at the Sunset Center.
There are lots of other holiday happenings coming up in the area throughout December, so plan you holiday trip now.
The gals are still offering the 3rd night FREE midweek thru December 20, and I will be here to greet you to ring in the holidays at our Carmel Pet Friendly Inn!
For all you gals, well guys too I guess, on Saturday, November 17, 2012, Carmel will once again hold it’s annual Famous Outdoor Holiday Craft Show at the Sunset Center Carmel from 9am-3pm. The fair features various artists and craftpeople, many from Carmel-by-the-Sea.
We still have available accommodations for you from our beautiful Carmel Lodging: Pet Friendly Two Bedroom Suites! So gather your girlfriends and escape to our Carmel Inn for the weekend and enjoy a unique Christmas shopping opportunity at the Sunset Center.
It’s that time again, when the hay bales arrive and the gals decorate them with all sorts of smelly things. As you can see here, I helped inspect everything Before the Pet Guests who were lucky enough to come to our Pet Friendly Carmel Inn got their chance to pose. Mattie climbed up in the cubby hole, she’s just the right size. Fall getaways are perfect in Carmel, we’ll even take your human’s photos – makes a great Holiday Card setting – I will also sit in the shoot (at no extra charge, just for treats). Check out our Carmel Country Inn Facebook Page for my complete photo shoot.
I know all of our fabulous Pet Guests who’ve stayed here know that our Pet Friendly Carmel Lodging is the Most Pet Friendly Inn in Carmel!
Did you know that Trip Advisor rated us #7 (again this year) in the USA for Pet Friendliness? Yes, it happened again for the second year in a row!
My new friend, Marilyn Krieger, CCBC (that stands for Certified Cat Behavior Consultant) stayed here at our Pet Friendly Hotel in Carmel with her sister and mom, oh, and cutie pie Abigail, mom’s dog, and she thinks I’m perfect (like it takes an expert to tell me that).
Marilyn is a famous Certified Cat Behavior Consultant and she not only has a blog, but she also has a website, and is a contributing writer to Cat Fancy Magazine and Animal Planet’s Cats 101, so she knows a perfect cat like me when she sees one.
If you have one of those “typical” naughty felines, give Marilyn a call today and tell her you want your cat to be more like Carmel Country Inn’s Resident Cat, me, Tescher Cat.
Check out Zorro, he is my twin, no kidding! He’s younger than me, but now that his people and his dog have stayed with us here at Carmel Country Inn, I have contact with him and can teach him a lot. His people say he’s already king of his neighborhood in Sacramento, just like I’m the king here at Carmel Country Inn. Too bad Zorro doesn’t like to travel, because you know Carmel Country is the most Pet Friendly Inn in Carmel. Zorro’s people actually saw my mug and decided they just had to stay here at Carmel Country Inn, so they could meet me. I was right all along….It really is all about me!
