The gals showed up with all kinds of Christmas decorations on Monday and then my favorite arrived, the tree! I have been helping decorate the tree, the mantles, the patio, the display in the parking lot (yes, my hay bales are gone) and in place are tasty evergreens and not so tasty poinsettias, yes I’ve been around long enough to know not to eat the poinsettias. More photos to follow soon – plan your pre holiday getaway now. The gals have some last minute discounts and specials available so you can stay an extra night!
Tescher Cat here, guess what? Chris Tescher, the owner of our bed and breakfast in Carmel, CA Carmel just won the Carmel Pinecone’s (that’s our local newspaper) “Golden Pinecone Award” for best Carmel Contractor 2013! Yes, his last name and my first name are the same, which is another reason I am so proud! Needless to say, Mr. Tescher’s creative knowledge and high standards of building beautiful homes here in Carmel and Pebble Beach reflect our Carmel area inn’s offerings of spacious guest suites, all with fireplaces and luxury bathrooms, using only the finest materials. So plan your stay today and if you’re lucky, he may be here checking in on the gals, and of course, I’m always here.
It’s that time of year again, when the gals get the hay bales and funny looking pumpkins, and these neat grasses I love chewing on. Fiber is good for you! If you’ve never been to our Pet Friendly Bed and Breakfast in Carmel this time of year, plan now! The weather is great – the fog is gone and the sun is out, the crowds are gone, well, for the most part anyway and the gals will take the pet guests photos here by the autumn display. Check out this photo of the display – including me – I’m hiding in plain sight so the pet guests don’t see me. By the way, the gals have the lobby kitchen all decorated for autumn too. Call us today and book your Fall Escape to Carmel by the Sea.
Who says the gals are the only ones who can provide excellent concierge services at our pet friendly Carmel bed and breakfast? I happen to know all about the wonderful restaurants, many of which are within walking distance from our Pet Friendly Carmel Bed & Breakfast. No matter what type of food you are hungry for, Carmel-by-the-Sea has it all. This menu book has menus and photos from Italian, French, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Japanese, Seafood, Cafes, Bistros, Pubs & Bakeries – whew! that’s a mouth full.
Some of the gals favorites are Little Napoli & Vesuvio for Italian, Anton & Michel & Andres Bouchee for French, Da Giovanni & Dametra for Mediteranian, Yafa, our newest Middle Eastern restaurant, a local favorite, Tommy’s Wok for Chinese and Anoki & Sushi Heaven for Japanese. There is Grasings & Christopher’s on Lincoln for fresh, coastal cuisine and Flying Fish Grill for the best fresh fish ever. Even my pal and Carmel neighbor Clint, (you know, Eastwood) owns a restaurant called Mission Ranch. They have great steaks. Clint doesn’t take reservations at his place but if I call and tell them “Tescher Cat” is on the line, he’ll pick up
Last week was “car week” as we call it. Our car collecting enthusiasts arrived at Carmel Country Inn early last week to partake in all the shows, tours, rallies, parades, auctions, parties and so on that are all part of Carmel car week. It’s really nice seeing the same guests year after year. The gals even got up early some mornings to help me host early morning coffee with my “men of concour” seen in the photo hanging out in the lobby kitchen with me.
When our guests come back in the late afternoon to have a cookies and lemonade or warm cup of coffee or cocoa, we always ask them what they did during the day. So, usually the common answer is, we went to the Beach, we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, we did the 17 mile drive or we hiked at Point Lobos. All great things to enjoy, right? Well now, today, when we asked this couple what they did, their answer was worth a blog post!
They said, we rented a Harley and drove down Highway 1 to Big Sur and back!
Wow, now that’s an answer we weren’t expecting. Who says we are all galleries and fancy restaurants.
I sure hope they take me with them next time. Don’t they make baskets that mount on handlebars for kitties??
Beginning this Thursday, June 20th the FARMERS MARKET comes to Carmel-by-the-Sea 10am-2pm at the Sunset Center parking lot!
Plan your summer getaway now and stop by our new Carmel Farmers Market and pick up local yummy organic produce and such!
Don’t forget to see if they have any tuna or salmon for me – gee, I’m not particular, remember I love Cantelope & Watermelon,
I will even eat tri-tip!
Check out this drawing that Abbey & Madison, recent guests, did of me sleeping in the chair in the lobby and the table with the other artwork people have sent of me. These gals really know how to treat a Cat! The petted me, snuggled with me and even gave me a few treats! I am available to any guest at the Carmel Country Inn needing a little cuddling, just come on by and sit down near me. Great job Abbey & Madison – I thank you.
Yes indeed, it’s another sunny, beautiful day in Carmel. No need to go any further than our patio off the lobby kitchen to soak up the relaxing warm sunshine here in Carmel over this first official summer weekend. It is so sunny, I am squinting, as seen here in my photo. The gals have a fresh Salinas Valley watermelon cut for all our arriving guests, and I even got some watermelon juice. It’s almost as good as cantaloupe juice. Plan your summer getaway to our Carmel lodging now and be sure to slot in some time to hang out in the sun with me!
The gardeners have been hard at work this week planting all the pretty springtime flowers and I have been supervising. It’s been warm and sunny and I just love the smell of potting soil. Check out our Facebook Page to see a photo of the first roses of spring. The Daffodils just finished blooming and now the Calla lilies, Alstromerias, Honeywort, Cinerarias, Impatiens, Camelias, Fuchsias (the Fuchsias are the humming birds favorites) the Jasmine blooms make me sneeze and so many other flowers are blooming in our Carmel gardens that I would have to get out the Sunset Western Garden book to name all of them. The gals have been out to Carmel Valley to the flower nurseries there to select all the pretty spring colors. Gotta go now and roll around in the sunshine. Be sure to plan a trip soon to our Carmel Bed and Breakfast while all the pretty flowers are in full bloom!
